A group of 90 of Ireland’s top entrepreneurs including Declan Wynne of Skanstec in Clonmel and Ray Nangle and Geraldine Killian of The Lunch Bag in Nenagh recently attended the annual EY Entrepreneur Of The Year CEO Retreat.
The destination for this year’s retreat was Singapore.
The delegation included this year’s 24 EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalists, including Declan Wynne of Skanstec in Clonmel and Ray Nangle and Geraldine Killian of The Lunch Bag in Nenagh as well as 70 alumni representing a broad spectrum of industries.
The aim of this annual retreat is to support, inspire, and challenge entrepreneurs to take their businesses to the next level.
The entrepreneurs spent a week in Singapore where they participated in a comprehensive programme of networking, executive coaching, and education.
The itinerary included meetings with some of Singapore’s most successful entrepreneurs and business leaders as well as inspirational talks by global thought leaders on a variety of topics among them Jim Rowan, Volvo CEO and Eduardo Saverin co-founder Facebook.
Speaking about his experience Declan Wynne, CEO Skanstec Engineering in Clonmel said: “It was a truly inspiring experience to be part of the recent EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Ireland CEO Retreat to Singapore. To spend a full week with such a highly successful group of entrepreneurs, who consistently remain humble, curious, and innovative was amazing. It was an incredibly well organised and action-packed week of learning. It is an honour to be part of this prestigious programme and the CEO Retreat has certainly sparked a new level of ambition for the Skanstec Engineering team”.
Ray Nangle and Geraldine Killian CEO and Managing Director of The Lunch Bag in Nenagh said: “The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ CEO Retreat was more than either of us could have ever imagined or hoped for. World class speakers, interactive panel discussions and site visits challenged every business concept we had. But above all this, the camaraderie and networking opportunities with EY Alumni was just exceptional. We are so looking forward to building on these relationships and harnessing all that knowledge for future growth, both personally and professionally.”
Roger Wallace, Partner Lead for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year said: “The annual CEO retreat is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme. It is a unique opportunity for our entrepreneurs to gain valuable insights from successful global business leaders, fellow entrepreneurs, and leading academics. The entrepreneurs also forge important relationships with other like-minded business leaders to help them unlock the immense opportunities that exist for their businesses both in Ireland and overseas. I would like to thank all the entrepreneurs who attended for embracing the programme so earnestly and for contributing to what was a truly fantastic week. I would also like to acknowledge the support of our sponsors Invest NI, Enterprise Ireland, and Julius Bär who joined us for the week.”
