Uisce Éireann and Tipperary County Council have lifted the Boil Water Notice impacting customers of the Glenary Public Water Supply serving parts of Clonmel and its hinterland since August 2 following consultation with the HSE.
The Boil Water Notice was lifted yesterday (Sunday).
Affected customers in the following areas can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth: Parts of Clonmel Town centre and surrounding areas including Cashel Road, Cahir Road and Ring Road; and the Kilmacomma/Finger Post areas in Co. Waterford
Uisce Éireann’s priority remains the protection of public health. Due to strike action arising from a dispute between the Unite trade union and seven Local Authorities, Uisce Éireann said it took the necessary steps to protect public health by imposing a Boil Water Notice on this scheme.
Uisce Éireann’s Colin Cunningham acknowledged the impact of the notice and thanked the local community:
“I would like thank the affected communities across Tipperary who were impacted by this notice for their patience and support and we are also grateful to elected representatives and the media for their assistance in sharing information on the boil water notices and outages during the past number of days.”
The Uisce Éireann Customer Contact Centre (1800 278 278) is available to answer customer queries in relation to the lifting of this water quality notice.
