Tipperary TD Michael Lowry has written to the CEO of Uisce Eireann to request 'prompt response and action on the issues affecting the Thurles water supply.
Thurles and a number of areas, including but not limited to Holycross, Ballycahill, Bouladuff, Dovea, Borrisoleigh and Drom are currently under a boil water notice.
Deputy Lowry said today that communities have been grappling with a series of distressing and unacceptable water-related difficulties, affecting a large number of households and individuals, while also causing major problems for local businesses.
"It is particularly concerning that the area has been under a Boil Water Notice for approximately 32 days. This situation has given rise to significant hardship and disruption for the people and businesses in the affected areas," said Mr Lowry.
He stated that urgent attention is needed to rectify the ongoing water supply issues and to ensure that a safe and reliable water supply is restored as swiftly as possible.
"It is of utmost importance that I receive a timely and meaningful response to this matter. I implore you to consider the gravity of the situation and the broader implications it holds for the economic stability of the areas affected," said Mr Lowry.
