"There is an enormous sense of shock in the Cashel area following confirmation of a fatal car crash," says Tipperary TD, Michael Lowry.
He added: "It is understood that two grandparents and their three-year-old grandchild have lost their lives in the single-vehicle crash, which occurred just outside the town.
"Two other adult passengers have been removed to hospital for treatment."
Deputy Lowry added: "Gardaí are in the process of informing families and loved ones of the incident and our thoughts and prayers are with them as they receive this devastating news.
"This incident comes just a short few days after the accident that claimed four young lives in Clonmel on Friday night last."
