The Cahir Meet & Train Group teamed up with The 2 Johnnies to help to provide defibrillators and training for the town in 2022 and last Sunday in a bid to raise funds the ‘Little Blue Hero's’ and Women's Domestic Violence for Cahir they teamed up once again for the South Tipp Women's Mini Marathon. The weather may have been awful but that didn’t stop 437 participants of the 500 registered turning up on the day to support these most worthy of causes.

The local Fitness Club decided to continue the tradition of a local Marathon as a result of the discontinuation of the Tipperary Ladies Mini Marathon. They had a host the prize categories sponsored thanks to A1 bathroom renovations, Moloney's Bar, Poulmucka, Pro Recovery, Cahir House Hotel and Rhino network solutions.

In the categories we have John O’Donoghue, Liverpool supporters club, Cllr Andy Moloney, the reps of the late Breeda Marnane and Cahir Meet and Train. Other sponsors on the day were Michelle Occasion's, Glenpatrick Spring water and of course The 2 Johnnies. Thanks also to John Ryan for the stage and Niall O’Sullivan for his help and professionalism as always.

‘The 2 Johnnies’ delighted many fans and friends on the day by chatting to everyone and posing for endless photos while they were in Cahir! This was a big event for the town and monies raised go towards the ‘Little Blue Hero's’ and Women's Domestic Violence for Cahir, fair play to the lads for supporting local charities.

The Cahir Meet & Train Group posted after the event “we were delighted with the great success of The 2 Johnnies Mini Marathon last Sunday in the wettest weather possible. We didn’t think we would get the numbers but competitors turned out in force. Of the 500 registered 437 turned up and took part on the day. The event wouldn’t be possible without our Cahir Meet & Train committee, our sponsors for each race category, The 2 Johnnies, Red Cross, stewards & marshals, An Garda Siochana and Premier Timing systems and last but not least our very own Cahir man Andy Moloney. We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts and we thank each and every one of you that took part. We are hopeful that we can make this an Annual event”. The Group members and committee enjoyed a well deserved drink in Cahir House Hotel this that evening. Well done to all involved.
