Nenagh Court: Man who stole milking machine and water pump in Tipperary jailed for total of six months
A man who stole a wastewater sewerage pump and a milking machine has been jailed by Judge Elizabeth MacGrath at Nenagh District Court.
John Campbell of Towerhill, Cappamore, Limerick, pleaded to the theft of the pump from Applegreen Service Station, Birdhill, on November 5, 2022. The court heard the pump was valued at €2,400 and Mr Campbell was identified through CCTV.
He also pleaded guilty to the theft of the milking machine valued at €1,600 through deception or fraud at Cornamult, Terryglass, on December 30, 2021.
The court heard Mr Campbell contacted the injured party to purchase the machine but the injured party never received the money.
His solicitor, David Peters, told the court that his client was currently serving a prison sentence and was due for release next April.
Judge MacGrath sentenced Mr Campbell to a total of six months in prison for the offences, and backdated the sentences to October 6 when Mr Campbell was taken into custody.
She fixed recognizance in his own bond of €500, with an independent surety of €1,000.
