Irish brand Zingy Days, was founded by Victoria Stoyanova and her mother, who are based in Roscrea, County Tipperary.
The mother-daughter duo focuses on making ethically handmade, limited edition bags from their home studio.
Speaking to Tipperary Live, Victoria said 'I have been studying fashion through my mom my whole life, always running into her wardrobe and stealing her shoes or accessories - still to this day!'
'She is a talented seamstress and has been designing dresses and clothes her entire life.'
Victoria's mother, originally from Bulgaria, emigrated to Ireland with her family in 2002 when Victoria was just four years old.
The global pandemic inadvertently became the catalyst in which this family-run business emerged, launching their online store in January 2021.
'During COVID-19 I saw many of my mom's fabrics lying around the studio, so I took her scraps and started making tote bags during my final year in college - I haven't stopped since.'
The slow-fashion brand Zingy Days prides itself on catering to the fashion needs of individuals who seek a stylish everyday handbag from an ethical brand.
'I want my creations to benefit the wearer without harming the people who manufacture them or the environment in which they are placed.'
'Now we have incorporated vegan leather into our bags, combining unique deadstock fabric we have sourced from our travels in Bulgaria along with curated belts and jewelry pieces, we hope to expand into making clothing for our customers in 2024.'
They boast a no-waste policy and utilise environmentally conscious packaging.
Victoria commented on the brands commitment to sustainability, 'I became aware of the excessive consumption of fast fashion brands like Shein during the country's multiple lockdowns, as well as the waste that resulted from their short lifespans owing to poor manufacturing and the inevitable waste that resulted from their disposal. Trends have a major role in the ongoing overproduction of clothing, therefore I set out to design classic items that work with any season, any trend, and any wardrobe.'
'Our name Zingy Days comes from "zingy" meaning strikingly appealing and unforgettable and "days" as our pieces are timeless for every season.'
With a loyal customer base and a combined online following of over 2,500, Zingy Days offers a diverse range of bags with prices ranging from €40 to €95.
Victoria and her mother design and produce their bags by hand in their Tipperary home studio.
