Project presents new opportunity for disabled people in Tipperary

Past participant Stuart has endorsed the ILMI VOICE Project

The ILMI (Independent Living Movement Ireland) VOICE Project is back in Tipperary, ready to elevate the personal development journey of disabled people to the next level. With a focus on empowerment and inclusivity, this initiative aims to provide valuable resources and support to those looking to embark on an extraordinary path forward.

Stuart, a Tipperary local since 2022, is a past participant of the ILMI VOICE Project.

Stuart has expressed his enthusiasm for the programme emphatically: "I absolutely loved the ILMI VOICE Programme. It's so important for people with disabilities to get online, and VOICE helped me do just that.  VOICE allowed me to have a better understanding of what was available to assist me with the daily struggles of being a person with a disability”.

Nicola Meacle, a disabled woman and the VOICE Programme Officer for Tipperary, emphasises the significance of this programme: "For disabled people, it's often easy to feel sidelined by society's limitations. That's why programmes like the ILMI VOICE Project are essential. They empower us to break free from the barriers that hold us back and unlock our true potential".

Central to the ILMI VOICE Project is the provision of top-quality Lenovo tablets to all participants.

These devices serve as gateways to the digital world, allowing disabled people to connect, learn and engage with the world around them like never before. Through a diverse range of online classes and optional one-on-one life coaching sessions, participants have the opportunity to explore digital skills, internet safety and personal development from the comfort of their own homes.
