Residents at Ardeen Nursing Home in Thurles are still buzzing after what staff described as “a brilliant and amazing party night” with singer Una Healy on Friday evening, October 17.
The Tipperary-born artist, best known as a member of The Saturdays, joined residents for an evening of music and celebration. She performed a selection of songs and spent time chatting with residents throughout the night.

Staff at the home said the residents were “absolutely delighted” to welcome her, describing the visit as a memorable highlight. “Their smiles said it all,” a spokesperson said.
“Una took time out of her busy schedule to perform, chat and truly connect with everyone—it meant the world to the residents,” they added.
The evening also featured performances from residents Sean and Josie, along with Catherine Boyle, who each took to the microphone. Their songs, staff said, “added to the magic of the evening.”
Ardeen Nursing Home also extended thanks to the Thurles Care Group, which visits twice a month to bring “music, joy and community” to the home. Staff praised the group’s ongoing generosity and commitment. “What an unforgettable evening,” the spokesperson said.
