The local community in New Inn is paying tribute to the late Michael Hally, of Farrenkendry, Cashel, passed away on Sunday, February 8.
According to the death notice on RIP.ie, Michael is the beloved son of the late John and Kathleen and brother of the late Sean, Margaret, Josephine, Mary, Breda and Helen.

He is sadly missed by his loving wife Eileen, cherished children Kathleen and David, daughter-in-law Noreen, Kathleen’s partner Richard, adored grandchildren Max and Alex, brother Eddie, sisters Catherine Fahey and Bernie Brady, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and his loyal companion Paddy.
He will lie in repose at Devitt’s Funeral Home this evening from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Requiem Mass will take place tomorrow at 11.30am in the Church of Our Lady Queen, New Inn, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Full details are available on rip.ie.
The Fr Mathew Players expressed their sympathy to the Hally family, noting that Michael was a valued and long-standing member of the group and that the entire Hally family is woven into the fabric of the organisation.
Michael was also deeply involved in the operation of New Inn Community Centre. The Centre paid tribute to him, saying he was always ready to help with projects in the hall over many years and that his kindness and generosity will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Condolences
Messages of sympathy have been shared by friends and neighbours. One person wrote, "Sincere sympathies to Eileen, Kathleen and David, also to the extended members of the Hally and Dudley families on the sad passing of Michael. May he rest in peace."
Another added, "Sending our deepest condolences to you Eileen, Kathleen, David and your families, also to the Hally and Dudley families and extended families.
A great man who always stopped even for five minutes and loved the chat. He was so witty, you were guaranteed a laugh. May your gentle soul rest in peace, Michael."
Others remembered him fondly for his creativity, generosity and community spirit, noting his contributions to festival floats, Fr Mathew Players sets and support in day-to-day life.
