St. Anne’s Secondary school pupils laid on a huge welcome for the visit of the Tipperary hurlers with the Liam McCarthy and Irish Press Cups. Accompanying the All-Ireland Cups were senior hurlers were: John McGrath, John O’Keeffe and Darragh Mooney and Minor hurlers Rian Doodey and Kieran Breen. Also present was Kevin Hally, West Tipperary Development Officer with the GAA.

The hurlers and cups were greeted with the melodious strains of Slievenamon led by 3rd year student, Caoimhe Carey and the pupils raised the rafters with chants of ‘Tipp, Tipp, Tipp’, while at the same time showing utmost respect for their hurling heroes.
“This is an amazing atmosphere and an amazing welcome,” said Senior Hurler John O’Keeffe. Kevin Hally described the welcome as ‘the best welcome yet this year.
