Laura Durkan from Glenconnor, Clonmel is the 2018 Tipperary Rose of Tralee.
She was chosen at a gala ceremony in the Anner Hotel in Thurles.
Laura is a 26 year old pharmacist and daughter of John and Ann Durkan.
She attended Loreto Convent Secondary School in Clonmel and studied in the School of Pharmacy at University College Cork where she received a first class honours Bachelors of Pharmacy degree.
More recently she studied in the Royal College of Surgeons where she graduated with a Masters degree in Pharmacy.
Her hobbies include polo lacrosse (lacrosse on horseback), rowing, hurling, tennis and adventure activities (hiking).”
Laura was selected from 18 elegant ladies from all part of Tipperary and now will travel “via the Rose tour” to the international festival in Tralee in August and will take part in all the parades, Rose Ball, public engagements and a private qualifying event at the festival from which 32 Roses will be chosen to appear in the live selection broadcasts.
