Gardai are investigating the cutting down of goalposts at Kilfeacle Rugby Club on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
The act of vandalism at at Kilfeacle RFC's grounds Morrissey Park was reported to Tipperary Town Garda Station at 10am on Sunday by a member of the club.
A Tipperary Town Garda Station spokesman said the culprit or culprits would have needed an angle grinder or con saw to cut down the posts.
He said gardai are not yet following any definite line of enquiry into this vandalism incident.
The spokesmand appealed to anyone with information that may assist their investigation or who witnessed suspicious activity in the vicinity of Morrissey Park on Saturday night/Sunday morning to contact Tipperary Garda Station at (062) 51212.
