Tipperary's Caoimhe Egan bidding for Queen of The Land crown

Tipperary's Caoimhe Egan bidding for Queen of The Land crown

Caoimhe Egan

Next weekend will see North Tipp Macra travel to County Offaly to support local queen Caoimhe Egan as she bids to be crowned Queen of The Land 2018.
The 54th anniversary of the event will take place from November 9-11 in the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore under new sponsorship by the Clarke Machinery Group. Founded in 1964, the event has gone from strength to strength in recent years.
This year 30 girls from around the country will be hoping to impress the judges as they participate in a number of activities including a treasure hunt and bowling alongside their interviews.
Caoimhe hails from the parish of Loughmore and has been a member of Devilsbit Macra na Feirme for the last five years. She has proved to be an integral part of Macra in North Tipp, currently holding the position of county chair, and was previously Development Officer. She has also held the position of vice-secretary and secretary with her club.
Caoimhe has a particular interest in fundraising and promoting Macra, getting involved in a number of events over the years, including dyeing her hair blue. Her proudest moment occurred earlier this year when she was a member of a group that cycled from Malin Head to Mizen Head raising €11,500 for charity in the process. Having graduated from LIT Thurles last year, Caoimhe works in childcare and is farming part time, with a huge passion for it. She also loves horse riding, tag rugby and football, proving that she not afraid to muck out and get stuck in! She has always represented her club and region in an exemplary manner and no doubt she will do the same as she hopes to earn the coveted title and become the first North Tipperary Queen of the land.
Alongside Caoimhe, there will also be six escorts from North Tipperary — Thomas Kelly, John Keane, Johnny Sutton, Brian Shanahan (all Devils Bit) Sean Kelly and Martin Gerard Gleeson (both Nenagh).
We wish all taking part from North Tipp Macra the very best of luck for the weekend!
