Liam Cahill's team take on Offaly next weekend and the winner of that tie will play Galway
Tipperary take on Offaly next weekend in Tullamore in the All-Ireland senior hurling championship and the winners of that match will play Galway in the All-Ireland hurling quarter final.
Earlier today Galway were pipped by a last gasp Kilkenny goal in the Leinster final. Going into the final play the westerners led by two points but a lapse in concentration meant that Padraig Mannion kicked the ball out to the unmarked Cillian Buckley who rifled the ball low to the corner of the net to seal a late win.
The way the season is looking now is that Limerick and Kilkenny are straight through to the All-Ireland semi finals while six other teams must battle it out for the available spots in the last four.
In the quarter finals it will be the winners of the Dublin versus Carlow game next weekend that will play Clare on the weekend of the 24th of June.
The winner of the Tipperary and Offaly game next weekend will play Galway in the other quarter final on the weekend of June 24th.
It remains to be seen where this game will be played with Limerick the most geographically favourable venue for the tie.
Tipperary will start as favourites against the Joe McDonagh cup runners up next weekend. Tickets details for that game, and details for the throw in time, are expected to be confirmed early on Monday.
