Check out this Tipperary market's heritage week events

Traditional skills are on display on Saturday at Heritage Day at Thurles Farmers’ Market. Our usual traders will be present for your weekly shop – plus some other features.

Seamus O’Grady will give a demonstration of butter making, and Gerry Ryan will demonstrate how honey is produced.
TJ will show how wheat is turned into flour, and Mary is going to experiment with making bread using an air fryer.

We will also have a raffle on the day in aid of Suir Haven Cancer Support Centre – tickets can be purchased each Saturday in August (12, 19, 26), and the winners will be picked on Saturday, August 26.

Huge thanks to Ger Skehan, Richie Wright and TJ Donnelly – each donating a trailer of fuel – two of turf and one of firewood.

The donors will deliver to the winners. The Cabragh Whistlers will provide live music on the day, and we will also have some vintage vehicles, live animals and weather permitting, some bouquets of wild flowers.

The flowers can be purchased with the proceeds also going to Suir Haven.

Any other traders that would like to trade on the day please get in touch – food or craft.

Call 087 270 1689 to book a space. We also wish to acknowledge the support of Tipperary County Council and the Heritage Officer for this event for Heritage Week 2023 .

Please see the full listing for the week, especially in Tipperary on www.heritageweek.ie We have a location that allows indoor or outdoor trading every Saturday morning from 9am to 12.30pm, and offers our customers plenty of free parking.

The Café Chris Tea Coffee Truck is on-site seven days a week, so it is a great point for walkers to meet – have a beverage (hot or cold) before or after your walk - plenty of outdoor seating available to sit and have a chat.
