An action packed hurling weekend in Tipperary saw plenty of thrills and spills with the big news being that Roscrea beat last years county champions Kilruane MacDonaghs, thereby knocking them out of the race for this years title.
Again this year the senior hurling competiton has no outstandingly strong team. While injury hit Kilruane are knocked out, some have already qualified for the knockout stages of the competition with a game to spare by virtue of results in their divisional championship and group games like Thurles Sarsfields, Clonoulty Rossmore, Kiladangan and Toomevara.
