Junior A
In the Junior A championship Lorrha had a 3-06 to 1-10 win over Templemore after a great encounter in Lorrha on Saturday evening. The Lorrha goals came from Caroline O’Brien, Elaine Hogan, and Megan O’Meara.
In the other game in the group goals also proved crucial for Kiladangan as they defeated Drom & Inch 3-9 to 0-15. At half time Kiladangan led 8 points to 7. With 56 minutes on the clock, Drom led by four points at 0-15 to 1-8.
But Kiladangan produced a blistering finish to score two goals in quick succession from Sinead Meagher and Emma Cahalan followed by a point and claim victory on a scoreline of 3-9 to 0-15.
In group 2 Moycarkey Borris continued their winning ways with a 2-17 to 1-7 win over Holycross Ballycahill. Goals came from Sarah Corcoran and Lucy Callanan. It was a great team performance with Kate Ralph, Sarah Corcoran, and Amy Callanan very dominant and great defensive performances from Maria Kinane and Karen Mullins.
Junior B
In round 3 of the junior b championship, Clonoulty Rossmore had a big win over Ballingarry 2-15 to 2-5. In group 2 Gortnahoe Glengoole and Portroe played out a really tough close game with Gortnahoe winning on a final scoreline of 1-9 to 1-7.
Junior B2
In the Junior B2 championship, Toomevara defeated Burgess Duharra 2-8 to 0-3. In group 2 Annacarthy proved too strong for an under-strength Shannon Rovers team and flew out of the traps with 2-3 on the board before the Rovers girls scored.
Best for Annacarthy were Ciara Slattery (0-7 from play), Lucy and Jennifer Heffernan and Danielle Butler. Best for the Rovers were Anna Harding, Caitlin Murphy, Kelly Watson and Méabh Cahalan.
Junior C
Ballybacon Grange proved too strong for Slieve Feilim on Saturday evening in the Junior C Championship winning 3-15 to 0-6 in Goatenbridge.
Alice Ryan was excellent in mid-field and finished with 1-7 (3 frees). Katie O'Connor and Fiona Murphy also raised green flags while the fullback line were very impressive.
