Tipperary priest leads pilgrimage to Italian city of Padua

Fr Toomey brought thousands of petitions to the Tomb of Saint Anthony in Padua

Fr Michael Toomey, Parish Priest and Administrator of the Parishes of Ardfinnan and Newcastle/Fourmilewater, led a pilgrimage to Padua in Italy this week.

Thousands of petitions were prayed for and left at the Tomb of Saint Anthony in Padua.

Many of these came from people all across Ireland who regularly join Fr Toomey for Mass on the RTE News channel on Monday mornings. 

He especially remembered communities in south Tipperary after the last few difficult weeks for all the families and friends.
