TUS Midwest booked their place in the Fitzgibbon Cup quarter-finals with a comprehensive 5-23 to 3-13 victory over ATU Galway in Moylish last Wednesday night.
All the damage was done in the first half with TUS building a 17-point lead.
Kian O’Kelly fired two goals in the first half and added a second after the break for Jimmy Browne’s side. Ger Browne (Cashel King Cormacs) added a goal too, and pitched in with 1-4 while O'Kelly topped scored with 3-2 to his name from play.
It was a dominating display from TUS Midwest and the Tipperary players were the main scorers for the college with Kyle Shelly (Moycarkey Borris), Gearoid Ryan (Cappawhite), Sean Kenneally (Moneygall), Eoghan Connolly (Cashel King Cormacs) all scored in the rout.
TUS Midwest's victory secured a quarter-final Limerick derby against Mary Immaculate College next week.
