The Tipperary Golf club held their annual senior citizen’s party last Sunday, an annual event that is amojnt the social highlights of the year.

The eldest senior citizen in attendance was Pearl Skehan 98 years old now residing in Sacra Coeur nursing home, who told the Nationalist she is looking forward to her 99th birthday in April.

“Pearl was one of the founder member of the community centre 60 years ago and she helped start the golf club senior citizens party forty years ago,” explained Lady Caption Aileen Carroll. “We run four buses to this event and this year over ninety people have turned out today.”

Madge Cleary is in her second year as Lady President. “This is a very enjoyable event with Christmas dinner, music and a visit by the Bishop.
