Further concerns for Liam Cahill as Tipp await scan to see severity of Kennedy injury

Another loss to rivals Limerick in last Saturday's Allianz National Hurling League clash in Cork was compounded further for Tipperary with the serious-looking knee injury to Seamus Kennedy who is scheduled to undergo a scan to see the severity of the damage done.

The St. Mary's man suffered the injury in the 47th minute of the game as a quick change of direction from a half-intercepted pass saw the Clonmel man buckle his knee and collapse to the ground which sent alarm bells ringing for Tipperary management and supporters alike.

There was a slight positive in that Kennedy managed to walk off the pitch after some treatment from medical staff, but Liam Cahill couldn't hide his disappointment for the player speaking after the game.

“We don’t know yet but it’s definitely a knee injury,” said Cahill.

“I hope it’s not too bad but we’ll get in behind that tomorrow and Monday and see how he is.

“I’m just so disappointed for Séamus, he was playing so well, and he’s a big player for us. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious.”

News should emerge this week as to the seriousness of the injury and Liam Cahill and his management will have everything crossed that it is not a season ending injury.
