KILSHEELAN 10 MILE
The annual Kilsheelan 10 mile race was held on St. Patrick's day, Sunday last, 17th March in Kilsheelan. The increasing popular race is a very challenging one with lots of rolling hills. Each participant received a lovely reusable travel mug and there was a lovely spread of food in the hall afterwards. We had eight athletes compete.
First home for the club and in 5th place overall was Barry Hartnett in a time of 57.27, followed by Michael O' Dwyer 1.11, Tish Ryan 1.11, Michael Moore 1.11 and was 3rd M60.
Then came Emily Leahy in a time of 1.16, Denise Compton 1.19 and was 1st F55, John Barry 1.23 and Pat Hayes 1.37.
BOHERMEEN HALF MARATHON
Bohermeen half marathon was held in Bohermeen, Co. Meath on Sunday, 10th March. It was a very wet morning for this popular race in the region. The course was favourable with it being mainly a flat route, containing just a few hills. The route consisted of one small and one bigger loop.
We had one athlete travel to the royal county to line out, Tom O'Connell ran a great race in a pb time of 1.18, shaving over two minutes off his previous half marathon time.
