One of the few to come out with credit in the game, Maher dealt well with the threat of Aaron Gillane throughout apart from the second-half goal.
Although he has done a job at full-back it may be that Tipperary’s need for the Thurles man is greater at six and he could feature there this Saturday in Walsh Park.
