The Tipperary captain was once again at centre-back and was very good. He had to make way with a head injury in the 32nd minute of the first half at a time when Tipp were a point up and in the time he was off the pitch, Cork had taken a three-point lead in at half-time.
Maher has been one of the positives in Tipperary’s dismal campaign and he has tried his best to plug the holes but can’t do it alone.
