West Tipperary junior B hurling and football championships are finely poised

The championships will be close from now on with new teams coming into the mix.

The knockout stages of the highly competitive west Junior B hurling championship has arrived with all the teams in contention given a fair shout for honours. 

In the coming weeks the knockout rounds will take place and it is expected that highly competitive games will ensue. The football is finely poised also with full details below.

West Junior B Hurling Championship
The group stages of the Tipperary Co-Op West Junior B Hurling Championship concluded last weekend.

Group A
In Group A on Friday evening Eire Og Annacarty Donohill defeated Galtee Rovers, 4-23 to 0-5  in Annacarty to move onto six points. Galtee Rovers conceded their final game to Cappawhite with the latter finishing on six points.

On Saturday Emly defeated Golden/Kilfeacle 2-14 to 0-13 in Emly to leapfrog Golden/Kilfeacle and take third spot in the group.

Group B
The outstanding Group B game between Lattin/Cullen and Clonoulty/Rossmore took place on Friday evening in Lattin with Clonoulty/Rossmore winning, 1-21 to 1-10.
Clonoulty/Rossmore top the group with Lattin/Cullen finishing third.

Knockout Stages
Group A (Top Three Qualify)
1st Eire Og Annacarty Donohill, 2nd Cappawhite, 3rd Emly

Group B (Top Two Qualify)
1st Rosegreen, 2nd Clonoulty/Rossmore

Group C (Top two Qualify)
1st Solohead, 2nd Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams

Playoff between third teams in Group B and C for remaining 1/4 final spot

West Junior B Football Championship
The Shane Hennessy Agri-Advisor West Junior B Football Championship resumes this weekend.

Group 1
There are two games in Group 1 on Saturday, Rosegreen will aim to make it two from two when they face defending champions Galtee Rovers who received a walkover from Rockwell Rovers in round 1. The game has a 7pm throw in, at Rosegreen.

The second game in New Inn see’s Rockwell Rovers host Golden/Kilfeacle as both teams go in search of their first wins in this year’s competition.

In Group 2, Aherlow host 2023 finalists Eire Og Annacarty Donohill this Friday August 16th at 7pm in Lisvernane. Aherlow received a walkover from Sean Treacys in round 1 while Eire Og are making their bow in this year’s competition.

Format:
Group 1: Rockwell Rovers, Galtee Rovers, Golden/Kilfeacle, Rosegreen
Group 2: Sean Treacys, Aherlow, Eire Og Annacarty Donohill

Round Robin, Top two in each group to semi-finals.
