PREVIEW: Premier Intermediate fare has outcomes up in the air ahead of round 3 weekend

The Premier Intermediate Championship reaches the end of the group stages this weekend

PREVIEW:

Group 4

Killenaule V St. Marys

St. Marys claimed a priceless win over Burgess on the last day out and given the players they are missing, it was a very well-received win.

They look to be building some momentum now and with Cathal Deely back in contention, they are widening their options.
Killenaule always tends to produce their best against the Clonmel men though and a strong second half win over Sean Treacys has them motoring again.

There is never much between the south clubs when they meet, and it should be no different here, with Sean Treacys out of the picture, the permutations are numerous.

If Killenaule and Burgess win, it would mean a three-way tie on four points so every point here could be crucial.

Verdict: Killenaule

Burgess V Sean Treacys

There is less of a chance of a tight game here although the recent history between the teams would tell you different. The sides met in a relegation semi-final two years ago in Templederry and it was Treacys who came out on top, but a lot has changed in the interim.

Burgess will be annoyed over the loss to St. Marys as they underperformed based on what we’ve seen so far this year, but they will surely have too much for an injury-riddled Sean Treacys team who are likely going into the relegation battle in the coming weeks.

Verdict: Burgess
