Thurles Sarsfields 1-12

Clonoulty Rossmore made history on Saturday with a fantastic historic win over Thurles Sarsfields at The Camogie Grounds in The Ragg this afternoon in the FBD Insurance senior camogie final.

Many years of perseverance finally paid off as the westerners produced a dominant display of quality score taking to defeat a brave Thurles Sarsfields.

A good start saw Clonoulty edge 0-4 to 0-2 ahead by the quarter mark but Thurles Sarsfields came more into the game and pushed ahead then before the game levelled up by half time with the teams tied on 0-8 a piece.

In the second half they pushed on to go 0-13 to 0-8 clear after ten minutes of the half which was the key period in the game, as this surge gave them an unassailable lead.

Sarsfields responded briefly but with the strong lead Clonoulty kept the pressure on and led 0-18 to 0-10 with five to play. The saw it out in style to win their first ever title.
