Roadworks in Tipperary Town will restart on Monday, January 13th, following a temporary halt for the holiday season.
A single-lane system will be implemented on Fr. Matthew Street, also known as the Cashel Road and part of the N74.
This setup will allow for outbound traffic only while roadworks take place on the left-hand side of the road as vehicles exit Tipperary Town.
Additionally, the junction at James Connolly Park on the R661 (Dundrum Road) and Fr. Matthew Street will remain closed until January 24th to facilitate significant upgrades at this location.
Residents were informed earlier this week about the return of parking restrictions. The project, which paused for a Christmas break on December 20th, has already seen substantial progress.
Work on the right-hand side of the road, stretching from the Bansha Road (N24) Roundabout to the outskirts of town beyond St. Michael’s Cemetery, has been largely completed.
This includes the installation of new footpaths and upgrades to utilities such as electricity, telecommunications, water, and wastewater systems.
The €6 million project is funded by Transport Infrastructure Ireland, contributing €5 million, and Uisce Éireann, providing €1 million.
