Munster U16 B Final
Cork 3-16
Tipperary 1-1
It was a day to forget for Tipperary the U16 B team on Monday as they suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Cork in the Munster Final.
Cork having won the toss elected to play with the gale force wind at their back and they took full advantage with a blistering start that Tipperary had no answer to.
A goal after six minutes from Casey Lane was followed by a second 3 minutes later from Aoibheann Lynch leaving the score 2-4 to no score after just 10 minutes. While Tipp didn’t cough up any more goals Cork continued to score at ease and slotted over nine unanswered points to leave the half-time score 2-13 to no score in the rebel county’s favour.
Tipp had the wind advantage in the second half but Cork were never going to give up their commanding lead and added a third goal from Lily Buckley on the 38 minutes. A Saoirse Ryan points early in the half and a late goal from Mackenzie Simmons were all Tipperary could manage against an excellent Cork team who ran out comfortable winners 3-16 to 1-1.
