Railway level crossing to close at night for nearly a week in rural Tipperary community

The closure of the level crossing at Grange is to facilitate renewal of the road surface and other safety improvements

Tipperary County Council has given notice that it proposes to close Grange railway level crossing R-497-8 at XC133 at Grange will be closed nightly from Monday, March 24 to Saturday, March 29. 

It's proposed that a Stop/Go traffic management system will be in operation from 6am to 10pm between Monday, March 24 and Saturday, March 29. 

These traffic management measure are proposed to facilitate renewal of the road surface on the level crossing, re-painting of road line markings and installation of anti-skid surfacing at the crossing. 

Traffic travelling from Tipperary Town on the R497 will be diverted towards Dundrum and Roseanne Road Cross Roads onto the R661 and R505. 

Traffic travelling from Donohill will be diverted towards Dundrum on the R505 and then onto the R661 to Tipperary Town.  

Objections to the temporary closure should be submitted in writing to Tipperary County Council Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh not later than 12noon on Thursday, March 6 or by email to:roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie
