Tipperary hurler wins the official GAA Player of the Week award after terrific performance

Tipperary's Darragh McCarthy has been voted GAA.ie Hurler of the Week after his terrific personal performance against Cork last Saturday.

The Tipperary star received 3,813 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Wexford's Lee Chin (3,570) and Offaly's Oisín Kelly (3,130).

The 19-year-old Toomevara clubman showed in Tipperary’s win over Cork why there’s such a buzz about his potential to become a top player. He scored 10 points, five of them from play, from various distances and angles.
