Big Tipperary housing development proposal resubmitted and validated by County Council

A property development firm has submitted a planning application to Tipperary County Council for a proposed housing project comprising 31 residential units in Nenagh.

Baile Ard Developments Ltd aims to build the homes on a site near a protected structure at Silver View, located at the junction of upper Silver Street and Ciamaltha Road.

The proposal includes the construction of 15 two-bedroom houses and 12 three-bedroom houses arranged across six two-storey terraced blocks, along with four one-bedroom units within a separate two-storey building.

As part of the proposal, an agreement has been provisionally reached to allocate seven of the units to the council under Part V of the Planning and Development Act.

Plans also include a new entrance for vehicles and pedestrians, as well as the development of associated infrastructure such as internal roads, footpaths, underground utilities, links to existing public services, surface water management, car parking spaces, landscaped public open areas, street lighting, and various site development works.

Initially, the council deemed the application invalid due to an error in the public notices, which incorrectly identified the townland for the proposed development.

The developer has since rectified the issue and resubmitted the application, which has now been validated. A decision on the application is expected by May 18.
