WELL DESERVED: Tipperary man appointed as Deputy Principal of famous agricultural institution!

Gurteen Agricultural College has announced the appointment of Tipperary native John Flanagan as its new Deputy Principal.

Originally from Holycross, Mr Flanagan grew up on his family’s dairy and beef farm. He brings extensive experience in agricultural education and policy, having previously worked with Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) and with NFU Scotland.

The college confirmed the appointment this week, welcoming Mr Flanagan to the senior leadership team. His role will involve supporting the college’s academic and operational management while contributing to the development of its educational programmes.

Gurteen College, based in Ballingarry, is one of Ireland’s leading agricultural colleges, offering courses in agriculture, environmental studies, and related fields.

Mr Flanagan is expected to take up his new role immediately.
