A disused pub in Thurles is set for a new lease of life after planning approval was granted for its conversion into a betting office.
Boyle Sports received permission from Tipperary County Council to retain modifications already made to the former Corbett’s pub on Cathedral Street.
The company had also submitted a change-of-use application to formally repurpose the ground floor of the building as a betting shop.
Corbett’s, which had been out of operation for some time, underwent various internal alterations, including the removal of partitions and stairs, changes to the floor layout, and some exterior adjustments.
The retention application covered these works, along with other associated modifications.
With the planning approval secured, Boyle Sports intends to relocate its existing Cathedral Street outlet to the newly renovated premises.
