Tipperary County Council approves 60-home development despite numerous objections

The application, submitted by O’Ceallaigh Westfield Ltd, outlines a residential scheme on Brittas Road in Thurles.

The development will feature five four-bedroom houses, 27 three-bedroom houses, and 12 one-bedroom houses.

In addition, the proposal includes two duplex blocks containing a total of eight units — split evenly between four one-bedroom and four two-bedroom apartments.

A creche catering for up to 47 children is also part of the project. According to planning documents, this scheme represents the first phase of work on the site, with scope for additional housing in the future.

Despite some objections, the council has granted approval for the project, subject to 22 specific conditions.
