Ollies Bar West U21 ‘B’ Hurling Championship Semi-final
Cappawhite Gaels 6-21
Lattin/Cullen Gaels 2-10
By Michael McCarthy
The Cappawhite & Solohead combination cruised into the Ollies Bar West U21B Hurling Championship final with an easy win over Lattin-Cullen/Aherlow on an excellent sod in Lattin GAA Grounds.
Cappawhite Gaels started the game like a train and after three & half minutes of play led by 1-5 to no score, Mikey Barry with goal after ninety seconds while Darragh O’Hora(2), Cathal & Conor Martin and Sean Hayes all added minors.
Stephen Dee would finish the half with four goals and scored two in the 14th minute to end the game as a contest. The Cappawhite combination led by 5-16 to 0-2 at the break.
Cappawhite Gaels were able to rest a number of players at the break. Aaron Cleary added a sixth goal while Tomás O’Shea kept Lattin Gaels ticking over adding a number of points & a goal from a penalty. Sean Bourke & Stevie Carey kept fighting to the end.
Cappawhite Gaels were far too good for the opposition and would have preferred a sterner test heading into the final with Knockavilla Kickhams. The teams met in round one of the round robin with the Dundrum side prevailing by the minimum.
