Funding of €240,984.39 has been allocated to Tipperary for small-scale capital support for community groups and organisations, particularly those who serve disadvantaged communities in rural and urban

Tipperary County Council, on behalf of Tipperary Local Community Development Committee (LCDC), has launched its Local Enhancement Programme for 2026 following the December LCDC Meeting.

On 5th December, Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, and Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities, Jerry Buttimer TD, announced funding under the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht’s Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2026.

Funding of €240,984.39 has been allocated to Tipperary for small-scale capital support for community groups and organisations, particularly those who serve disadvantaged communities in rural and urban areas.

There will be a particular focus on small capital works/improvements and the purchase of equipment for community use. The funding may be used for, but is not limited to: improving access for persons with a disability; enhancing community participation for disadvantaged and marginalised groups, and improving energy efficiency of community facilities to reduce ongoing costs.

Who is eligible to apply?

Any not-for-profit community or voluntary group can apply.

Commercial organisations and individuals are not eligible for funding.

Community & Voluntary groups and clubs in Co. Tipperary that are registered with Tipperary Public Participation Network (PPN).

Applications for the Local Enhancement Programme 2026 Capital Fund Application: click on https://submit.link/4tp

Details of the application and links will also be promoted through Tipperary PPN to all registered community groups https://www.ppntipperary.ie/

The closing date for applications is 4pm Monday, 26th January 4pm. Recommendations will be made to the February 2026 LCDC and sent to the Department for consideration.

Announcement of the successful projects will be made by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht in Q2 2026. All successful applicants will be notified following the Department announcement in Q2 2026.
