The move was officially approved by the GAA on January 23, bringing an end to Quinlivan’s hugely successful spell with Clonmel Commercials.

One of the most decorated forwards in the club’s history, Quinlivan played a central role in Commercials’ dominance in Tipperary football over the past decade.

During his time with the South Tipp outfit, he captured eight county senior football championship titles as well as a Munster Club title in 2015, cementing his place as one of the club’s standout performers.

His most recent county success came in 2025 when Clonmel Commercials secured another senior crown with victory over Kilsheelan Kilcash. Quinlivan’s experience and scoring ability were key elements throughout the club’s sustained success at the top level.

Away from the club scene, Quinlivan also enjoyed significant success with Tipperary. He was part of the Premier County panel that claimed the Munster Senior Football Championship title in 2020, one of the county’s most memorable modern football achievements.

Individually, Quinlivan’s was recognised nationally when he received an All-Star award in 2016 following a series of outstanding performances in blue and gold on the way to an All-Ireland semi-final that year that ended in defeat to Mayo.

His switch to Dundalk Gaels signals a major addition for the Louth club as they look to strengthen their ranks with one of Tipperary’s most accomplished footballers of the modern era.
