It took the very last kick of the game to settle it, but Mount St Michael, Roscarberry are Munster champions once more, claiming their first provincial title since 1996 and gaining revenge for their 2022 defeat to the same opposition.

Abbey CBS were the sharper side early on and controlled possession for the opening 17 minutes. They opened the scoring through Evan Slattery on six minutes before a further point from Aaron Brazil pushed them into a 0-2 to 0-0 lead.
Their kick-out strategy was solid and they dictated the tempo in what was a tense, tactical opening.
Roscarberry gradually found their feet. They began to disrupt the Abbey CBS kick-out and won more primary possession around the middle third. Scores were difficult to manufacture in a cagey affair, but two O’Neill frees in the 19th and 21st minutes brought Mount St Michael back on terms.
Ronan Hayes edged them level at 0-3 apiece deep into first-half injury time, capping a tightly fought opening 30 minutes where defensive structures dominated.
Abbey CBS again started the second half brightly and nudged ahead by the minimum. However, Luke O’Neill responded from play before Ronan Hayes slotted a free on 36 minutes to give Roscarberry a lead they would cling to deep into the contest.
Aaron Brazil and Dylan Scannell traded points in a gripping final quarter. Brazil then showed real composure to level matters with just two minutes remaining, setting up a grandstand finish.
With the clock deep in injury time and extra-time looming, Cork U20 footballer Dylan O’Neill stepped forward. From an angle and under immense pressure, he struck over what proved to be the decisive score, the final kick of the game.
A title secured in dramatic fashion, built on resilience, tactical discipline, and nerve when it mattered most. For Mount St Michael, Roscarberry, this was revenge earned.
