School Fundraiser

Pedal to the Peak Carmel Heelan Ardfinnan

Carmel Heelan, from Ardfinnan, is principal of Herbertstown NS.

Keep an eye out in Clonmel and Cahir, this Saturday, for a group of cyclist on their 'Pedal to the Peak' challenge!

The team will represent Herbertstown NS, in Co Limerick, and will be trying to cycling from the lowest point in Ireland to the highest in 24 hours!

Carmel Heelan (née Long) from Ardfinnan is principal of the school and is calling on her fellow Tipperary folk to support her school's fundraiser.

Pedal to the Peak

The intrepid cyclists (above) will start out from the North Slob in Wexford, cycle 270 km to the foot of Carrauntoohill and then hike to the summit! Seven parents and one teacher have undertaken the challenge - one that has never been attempted or completed before!

Funds raised will go to the school extension fund and a percentage will be split between charity Clionas Foundation and Crumlin Childrens Hospital.

The children of Herbertstown NS are cheering on the cyclists!
