Darragh Barry: Chops the Curls for Cancer
Three years ago, former Drom National School student Darragh Barry, at the age of 10, decided to grow his hair to donate it. He then decided to use the opportunity to raise funds for the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation Limited.
The Mid-Western Cancer Foundation Limited is a local cancer charity. All donations to this charity are used to enhance services for patients attending the cancer centre at the University Hospital Limerick and for research.
A fundraising night was held in Michael Finn’s Pub, Templemore, on March 12, where Darragh chopped his ‘Curls for Cancer’. His hair was donated to the Rapunzel Foundation - a charity that makes wigs for children with hair loss.
A massive €19,000 was raised by Darragh for the Mid Western Cancer Foundation Limited. What an incredible achievement.
All in Drom National School are so proud of Darragh and delighted that a former student of Drom NS could do such good for such a worthy cause.
