Club hurling previews and predictions: Groups stages to conclude this weekend

Club hurling previews: Plenty to play for as group stages conclude

FBD Insurance Intermediate Hurling Championship

Sunday September 4:

Ballingarry V Cappawhite in Golden @ 5.30

A winner takes all clash in Golden. Ballingarry bounced back well after the Moneygall game, while Cappa’ were not at the same level as the north team in round two.

Ballingarry should have too much for the west men on this occasion.

Verdict: Ballingarry

Ballybacon/Grange V Moneygall in Littleton @ 5.30

Another dead rubber, as top meets bottom in this Group 1 clash.

Ballybacon will be hoping for a performance, more so than a result, as we can expect the Moneygall train to continue at full steam.

Verdict: Moneygall

Sunday September 4:

Carrick Davins V Golden/Kilfeacle in Monroe @ 12.00

There is still a possibility of  Davins clinching a second spot here despite having no wins, but their scoring difference and injury list is against them.

Golden are in a good position to go through, even without Jack Leamy for the rest of the year.

Verdict: Golden/Kilfeacle

Boherlahan/Dualla V Lorrha in Dolla @ 12.00

Even if defeated, Boherlahan could still go through on scoring difference should the Davins win the other match.

However, they face a Lorrha team who are a level below where they should be which will prove decisive.

Verdict: Lorrha

Borrisokane V Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams in Newport @ 2.00

Borrisokane have been awful this year, but with a healthy win here, could still reach the quarter-finals.

Knockavilla have mixed the good with the bad, but have shown more than their north opponents to date.

Verdict: Kickhams

Ballinahinch V Skeheenarinky in Holycross @ 2.00

Ballinahinch produced a big performance the last day out against Borrisokane and will be buoyed as a result.

Skeheenarinky have been a real surprise package and with Ballyporeen out of the football, they will want to continue the winning run.

Verdict: Skeheenarinky

Arravale Rovers V Shannon Rovers in Templederry @ 6.00

Shannon Rovers still have a chance to qualify if they win here with a big margin, and hope that Drom get the better of Kilsheelan elsewhere.

Arravale can’t qualify but will be looking to avoid relegation with a win here.

Verdict: Arravale Rovers

Drom & Inch V Kilsheelan/Kilcash in Leahy Park, Cashel @ 6.00

Drom & Inch will be looking to continue their impressive winning run in this top of the table clash.

There is little room for error for Kilsheelan, who can still be caught by Shannon Rovers, but have probably done enough regardless.

Verdict: Drom & Inch
