"INTENSE" heavy showers can be expected as part of the latest Storm Gerrit update.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange rainfall warning for Cork and Kerry, as “intense” heavy showers may lead to flooding in the southwest.
This warning is valid until midnight on this Wednesday, December 27. A Status Yellow rain warning has also been issued for the entire country and will last until midnight.

A Status Orange wind warning has been issued for Clare and Galway, which will come into effect from 6pm this Wednesday until 6am Thursday, December 28.
Met Éireann also warned of very strong to gale force westerly winds overnight. The possibility of coastal flooding due to spring tides (high tides are higher and low tides are lower than average).
