No other injuries were reported following the incident
A woman, aged in her 60s, has sadly died following a house fire in Limerick city.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at a residence in Chesterfield Downs, Singland at approximately 5:30pm on Saturday evening, January 17.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in the county confirmed: “Gardaí are investigating a fatal house fire that occurred on Saturday evening, 17th January 2026 in Singland, Limerick city.

"A female, aged in her 60s, has been pronounced deceased at the scene," they added.
No other injuries were reported following the incident.
The woman's body remained at the scene, which was preserved for a technical examination.
The outcome of a post-mortem examination will determine the course of the garda investigation.
According to sources, foul play is not suspected at this time.
