Cloughjordan House and Kilshane House
Two Tipperary venues have been recognised in a new RTÉ list of 'the best 15 wedding locations in Ireland to view, and what they cost', compiled by journalist Éadaoin Fitzmaurice.
Kilshane House near Bansha was singled out for its grandeur and unique interiors. The Victorian country house, set on 320 acres of parkland, is best known for its striking glass conservatory, which provides a dramatic backdrop for ceremonies and receptions. Wedding packages apparently start at €170 per person in peak season, with exclusive use of the house included.
The venue caters to both lavish banquets and intimate gatherings, with couples able to tailor each detail. Each room has been described as a “work of art,” adorned with intricate paintings on ceilings and walls. And while Irish weather can be unpredictable, Kilshane ensures beautiful indoor photo opportunities, with the expansive grounds offering breathtaking scenery when the sun shines.
Cloughjordan House, an 800-year-old estate, also made the list thanks to its rustic yet elegant appeal and its celebrated farm-to-fork ethos. With its own cookery school and walled gardens supplying fresh ingredients, the venue is a haven for food-loving couples.

Couples can marry outdoors under ancient trees, in the converted barn, or in the historic house itself. A typical celebration might begin with woodland vows, followed by lawn-side drinks and canapés, and dinner in the marquee with long banquet tables showcasing seasonal produce. Dancing often spills into the barn, creating what Fitzmaurice calls a lively “festival feel.”
The estate can host up to 180 guests, with on-site accommodation for more than 80 across manor rooms, courtyard cottages, and quirky eco pods. Packages allegedly range from €95 to €110 per guest, depending on the season.
Together, Kilshane House and Cloughjordan House highlight Tipperary’s strong presence on the national stage when it comes to unique and memorable wedding destinations.
