The funds raised play a vital role in supporting the delivery of specialist palliative care in communities across Ireland. Hospice and specialist palliative homecare services provide free-of-charge care and support to those living with a life-limiting illness, whilst also helping and supporting the patient’s family members.

The funds raised will be used for Health Care Assistants, Volunteer Driving Scheme, Complementary Therapies, Music Therapy, Counselling Services, Bereavement Support Groups and we are introducing at the moment and starting to take bookings for much needed Grief Counselling for Children.

Speaking at the launch of the 2025 Hospice Sunflower Days campaign, Sean O’Donovan, Chairperson, South Tipperary Hospice, said: “We are thrilled to launch the 35 th Hospice Sunflower Days campaign. We rely so much on the public’s support which allow us to continue to provide our vital services. We are calling on everyone from South Tipperary to donate what they can, either on- street or on-line this June, as every euro raised locally, stays locally and really does make a big difference at a local level.”

Hospice Sunflower Days Ambassador, Miriam O’Callaghan, commented, “The Hospice Sunflower Days campaign is one I am absolutely delighted to support as I have seen firsthand the fantastic work and care that hospices and homecare services provide to patients and families all across the country.

With hospices needing to raise approximately €20 million each year to continue to provide their specialist care, it is so important for the public to show their support by donating on-street or on-line during this year’s campaign.”

You can support South Tipperary Hospice by donating to the on-street volunteers on Friday June 6 or Saturday June 7, or by donating online throughout the month of June via the website, www.sunflowerdays.ie.
