Tributes have poured in for a Tipperary man, who left as a ‘friend to everyone’.

Alan (John) Dempsey of Offaly, and formerly of The Knock House, Roscrea, Tipperary, died on June 23.

Darragh King of Haverty’s Pub in Co Offaly paid tribute to his friend.

“It's with the heaviest of hearts that we share this sad news. A man who walked in the door as a normal customer and left as a friend to everyone. So many great memories. There'll always be a seat in Haverty's for Al. Rest easy my friend,” they said.

Alan peacefully passed away in the care of the staff of St. Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin. Previously, he was given care in Tullamore General Hospital.
