Council proposes closing rural Tipperary road for a week due to cattle underpass project

Tipperary County Council has given notice of its intention to close the R-497-7 at Knockgorman, Donohill for a week in December to facilitate the installation of a cattle underpass. 

It's proposed to close the road from 1am on Monday, December 8 until 23.59pm on Monday, December 15. 

Traffic will be diverted via L-5211-1, L-5212-1, R-661-3, L-4207-1.

Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Road Closures, Roads & Transportation, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh not later than 12 noon on Thursday 20 November 2025 or by e-mail to roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie
