Paddy Power announces closures of UK and Ireland branches
There are three Paddy Power shops in Tipperary
Paddy Power, who has outlets in Thurles, Clonmel, and Carrick-on-Suir, has announced that the closure of 100 shops across Ireland and the UK is possible by the end of the year.
About 400 jobs are on the line should the closures go ahead; the firm has 196 shops in Ireland according to some reports, but 250 according to its own website.
The announcement was made by Flutter Entertainment on Thursday this week, the parent company of Paddy Power as well as Betfair, and Sky Bet.
“We are incredibly proud of our high street estate, and it remains a key part of our business in communities across the UK and Ireland. Unfortunately, we have had to take the extremely difficult decision to conduct this review," a spokesperson from Flutter UK and Ireland, owner of Paddy Power, said.
